There is no known Java implementation of the CVS Server.

For many years, there was no practical means of creating a Java-based CVS Server, as there were no implementations of diff or rcs in Java. However, I believe that both diff and rcs are now implemented in Java, so it is more practical than ever to write the server. However, I know of no such project.

I suspect the biggest reason is that CVS is very old, and there are many modern equivalents that attract more developer attention.

Thanks very much for you help.
I still have some questions to ask. Is there a replacement for CVS that has been realized in Java(contains both the client and the server)?
Someone said that the subversion was the next generation of CVS,but I doesn't know whether it is writen in java and has a server writen in java.
