How do you add files to a project?  XML

Hi,

I'm a student using jCVS for a course at school. I'm having trouble adding new files to a project. For example, someone else created the project with the file index.htm in it. I modified index.htm to link to another page: "other.htm". I then tried to add other.htm to the project and received the error message:

cvs add: nothing known about other.htm

The command encountered an error.

Can anyone help me resolve this?

Thanks.

It is not quite clear to me what you are doing. If you are using jCVS, then what menu command are you using to perform the add? Also, if the file located in the same directory as the other file?

hello, I got the same problem.

I have checked out a project called testing_prj

here is the directory structure
testing_prj
testing_prj/src
testing_prj/src/test.txt

I created a file index.html in testing_prj/src
i.e. a new file with path testing_prj/src/index.html
then on the project windows, I right click on src, select cvs command then type "add index.html"

The program return the error "know nothing about index.html"

what is the problem, are there any steps I did are wrong?

Could anyone tell me the correct procedure to add a file to an existing project?

Many thanks!

Cheers,
Wilson
