A series of supportive phone conversations with Ruby Walsh was one of the things that helped Paul Townend shake off a calamitous error on Tuesday and ride three winners from four mounts here on Wednesday, a turnaround in his fortunes that he described as “unreal”.

Working for Willie Mullins is a big help to anyone; the trainer bagged a scarcely credible six winners out of seven races and is now ahead of Gordon Elliott in prize money won for the season, making him long odds-on to keep his title as Ireland’s champion.
“It’s like fantasy racing,” said Mullins, who could not remember http://www.officialbaseballgiants.com/Brandon_Crawford_Jersey having had six winners on a single card anywhere, never mind the day of the Punchestown Gold Cup, which he won with Bellshill. “We came here under a bit of a cloud but what a reply from Paul, and from all the jockeys. It’s been tremendous.”
Townend apologised for his inexplicable blunder on Tuesday, when he steered a likely winner around the final fence. “I thought I heard a shout and that the last fence was being bypassed,” he said in a statement and refused several requests to elaborate.
Racing is never short of conspiracy theories and at times they are bang on the money but Townend’s mishap on Al Boum Photo looks bizarre rather than suspicious, on the Jahlil Okafor Jersey available evidence. The Irish Turf Club said it had seen nothing in the pattern of betting that would prompt further inquiry.
The Tizzard clan, trainers of Finian’s Oscar, have as much reason as anyone to be sore about what happened, as Al Boum Photo carried their horse out of the race. But Joe Tizzard met Townend at Mullins’s yard on Thursday morning and was reconciled with him.
“It was human error,” Tizzard said. “The first thing he did, when he saw us in the yard, he got off his horse and walked over to shake my hand and apologise. Really nice. We’re not the sort of people that are ever going to bear a grudge or anything daft like that.”
Asked about what, in his view, Andre Dawson Jersey had caused Townend’s mistake, Tizzard, a former jockey, said: “I don’t think he really knows himself. There was something triggered him into thinking he had to go round the fence and there’s not a lot of time in those circumstances. You could tell it was affecting him. I felt for him.”
Townend could also http://www.saintsonlineofficialshop.com/WOMENS_YOUTH_JOHN_KUHN_JERSEY.html take comfort from Walsh’s words of support, uttered over the phone and at some length on Tuesday night. The message conveyed, apparently, was: “If this was an ordinary day in Ireland, you might be waiting a week for a chance to go out there and put it behind you. But the good news is, it’s the Punchestown Festival and you’ve got good rides in Grade Ones.” And Townend made the most of the opportunity.

Newcastle arrived free of relegation
One banner called for Sam Allardyce to go at Goodison Park but Theo Walcott’s sharp finish shielded the Everton manager from further hostility. Those wishing to register distrust in the former England manager’s style must make do with a club survey for now.

Walcott’s third Everton goal since arriving from Arsenal in January lifted an otherwise grim affair and Everton to eighth in the Premier League as Newcastle’s winning streak came to a subdued end. Rafael Benítez and his players have defied expectations to haul themselves clear of relegation danger but a lack of quality in attack was glaring.
Newcastle finished on top, preying on Everton’s anxieties, having a handball claim against Phil Alexandre Burrows Jersey Jagielka dismissed and almost equalising in the final seconds only for Seamus Coleman to intercept Jacob Murphy’s cross towards Dwight Gayle with a superb header.
Benítez claimed Bobby Madley was too lenient with Everton’s physical approach but accepted that, in Walcott and Wayne Rooney, lavish spending at Goodison has at least bought the experience to make a difference in matches as mundane as this. “It might have been different if we had done better with the final pass in the final third,” the Newcastle manager said. “In this kind of game when they are very physical and the referee allows them to do these things, and they are at home and have quality, that is an advantage.”
Unsurprisingly, Allardyce took an opposing view, suggesting Everton had been “excellent” for 75 minutes and lost their way only when Morgan Schneiderlin http://www.redskinsofficialonlineshop.com/Dj_Swearinger_Jersey_Cheap departed injured. Schneiderlin did impress, earning a rousing ovation from fans who had booed him on to the pitch a few months ago, but there was nothing excellent about this display beyond Walcott’s winner.
Allardyce had called for clarity over his long-term position before a game attended by Everton’s major shareholder, Farhad Moshiri. A glance to his left before the kick-off will have given the Everton manager a reminder http://www.authenticredwingstore.com/-21-tomas-tatar-jersey_c-518.html of the clarification many supporters are hoping for. “Our survey says … Get out of our club” read a banner draped over the upper Gwladys Street Jay Ajayi Authentic Jersey stand. Anti-Allardyce sentiment had been reserved for Everton’s away matches, unsurprisingly given the contrast in results on the road and at Goodison, but the recent PR fiasco of asking fans to rate an unpopular manager on a scale of zero to 10 presented an opportunity that was not missed at home. A solid but unspectacular performance did little to appease the restless natives.
“The controversy was caused by an error from one of our employees who recognises it wasn’t the right thing to do,” said Allardyce on what was a wide-ranging survey. “As a manager you have to deal with it and move on. The players did the talking tonight by winning and moving us up to eighth. Let’s hope we finish the season as strong as we can.”
Newcastle arrived free of relegation concern after four successive wins and with Jonjo Shelvey seeking to press his claims for a World Cup call from the England manager Gareth Southgate. He was unable to do so as Schneiderlin and Idrissa Gueye controlled the midfield contest while a lack of composure with the final ball cost Newcastle several promising openings.

Does life on this small
Jürgen Klopp is calm and serene. His face lights up, of http://www.cardinalsnflofficialonlineshop.com/Robert-Nkemdiche-Jersey course, at the prospect of “the mighty battle” which awaits Liverpool on Tuesday when Roma arrive at Anfield for the first leg of their Champions League semi-final. He also leans forward animatedly when assessing the intriguing challenge the Italians will pose. Yet, beyond the cliche of Klopp as a madly gurning cheerleader on the Kendall Lamm Womens Jersey touchline, the 50-year-old German proved, again, his tactical nous and inspirational management while guiding Liverpool to three victories this season over the feted Premier League champions Manchester City. The 5-1 aggregate defeat of City in the quarter-finals was exhilarating and resilient.

It is striking how, at Liverpool’s training ground, Klopp is also stimulated when discussing real life and tangled politics, Brexit and Angela Merkel. There are moments in a free-wheeling conversation when the hilarity feels unstoppable as Klopp considers a claim that he would win an election to become German chancellor because of his attention to detail, communication skills and empathy. But there are many more thoughtful moments – particularly when Klopp addresses the vexed issue of Brexit and his belief that British people should have the chance to vote again on their future in or outside the EU.

We start, however, with Klopp reminiscing about his youthful desire to become a doctor. That teenage ambition chimes with his persistent interest in helping people “get better every day” and his http://www.officialauthenticcardinalsstore.com/womens_pat_tillman_jersey work with players, from Mo Salah to Dejan Lovren, who improve in contrasting ways.
“I was young when I thought about becoming a doctor,” Klopp says with a smile as he remembers growing up in the Black Forest village of Glatten. “I had the idea three years before C.J. Mosley Womens Jersey my A-level. But to study medicine your A-level results had to be fantastic. So it was good for all the people who would have been under my knife that I didn’t make it. But it was close to be honest.”
That wistful sentence is swamped by his laughter. But the idea of Dr Klopp is not outlandish. He exudes a warmth and intelligence we would all want to see in a doctor. “I have this helping syndrome,” Klopp says. “I really care about people and I feel responsible for pretty much everything.”
Klopp’s inclusive leadership, ensuring everyone feels nurtured and needed, is at the root of his success. Is he also becoming a scouser as his immersion in Liverpool runs so deep? Klopp grins, brandishing his cup: “There’s this tea, for example. T.J. Tynan Jersey When we come somewhere new my family like to adapt. We want to live like people here. I’m not a guy who says: ‘By the way, I want to tell you in Germany we do it like this or that.’ We look so similar but we are very different too. It’s really interesting. My boys both work in Germany but they are football maniacs so they’re very often here. They http://www.hockeyjetsofficialauthenticshop.com/Adam_Lowry_Jersey_Adidas tell me about the nightlife and I experience the country in the daytime.”
Does life on this small island seem insular, particularly when the political landscape has shifted dramatically since he arrived? “I’ve heard it said that English people are not looking outwards but I don’t see it. I live in Formby and work in Liverpool. I drive from here to there and sometimes I’m in different cities for games. So I don’t know enough about the country but many people come to Britain because English is the language the world speaks.

There are forgotten classics
The Premier League is the richest league in the world but money cannot buy hate. English football is crying out for an immense, sprawling rivalry between two great teams. There have been some interesting conflicts in recent times but nothing close to the epic nine-year war between Arsenal and Manchester United from 1996 to 2005.

It’s the rift that keeps on giving. Five years after ITV’s memorable Keane & Vieira: Best of Enemies, Channel 5 is to broadcast a documentary on the broader rivalry between the sides, and especially the managers. Fergie v Wenger: The Feud (Monday 10pm) is an exhilarating hour of time travel that includes interviews with more than a dozen players, coaches and journalists – and a series of clips that instantly evoke the nuclear intensity of the time.
The rivalry ached with such importance, from the football field to the school playground, as to make a http://www.texansfootballsprostore.com/WOMENS_YOUTH_KAIMI_FAIRBAIRN_JERSEY.html pacifist throw the first punch. It included everything from allegations of racism by Ian Wright against Peter Schmeichel to a pizza fight. There was also the Battle of Old Trafford, when Arsenal’s players manhandled Ruud van Nistelrooy after the final whistle; Roy Keane literally offering Patrick Vieira outside during Mitch Unrein Authentic Jersey a legendary row in the Highbury tunnel; and Jaap Stam being restrained by half of Highbury as he rumbled towards Vieira with extreme prejudice. “It’s funny,” Paul Scholes says. “In team talks against Arsenal, the ball was rarely mentioned.”
That does not mean it Jay Bouwmeester Authentic Jersey was rarely used. The quality of football was through the roof, even if that is sometimes obscured by memories of the rucks and rows. There had Jonathan Quick Authentic Jersey never been such technical quality in English football, and the FA Cup semi-final replay of 1999, featured in depth in the programme, has an outstanding case for being the greatest game ever played in England.
There are forgotten classics too, such as a primal 1-1 draw at Old Trafford on http://www.wildofficialauthentic.com/Charlie_Coyle_Jersey_Adidas a filthy Wednesday night in 1999 and United’s 2-1 win at Highbury later that year, when both teams created an endless stream of chances in a first half that flowed like basketball.
Some of the matches will never be forgotten. Arsenal won the league at Old Trafford in 2002 (and, effectively, in 199. United beat Arsenal 6-1 in 2001, when Arsène Wenger went postal in the dressing room at half-time, and ended their 49-game unbeaten run in a bitterly controversial match in 2004 – a savage injustice from which Arsenal never truly recovered. “If you don’t feel pain when you’re being conned,” Sol Campbell says, “when are you gonna feel pain?”
There is nothing in the rules that says this is the way cricket must be presented, or that everyone will like it. The endless goodbye to Henry Blofeld, for example, was fair enough but I’ve also heard cricket-loving kids say the Blofeld tone is why lots of other kids their age think cricket is just for posh, entitled people. They cringe at the idea of introducing their football-loving schoolmates to the great summer sport only to find Blofeld on, flapping about cakes and pigeons and dear old things. You what, mate?

Sagan sinks into the couch
I was thoroughly fucked but I tried to enjoy it afterwards,” Peter Sagan says with a grin as he explains how he felt after winning the Paris-Roubaix classic this month. “When I was younger, it was always my dream to win Paris-Roubaix. I didn’t think about the world championships and [the Tour of] Flanders.”

Sagan is the most popular rider in cycling today and, with the murky uncertainty surrounding Chris Froome and Team Sky, his victory felt like a shaft of light which revealed panache and grit. They call Paris-Roubaix the ‘Hell of the North’, because its 29 cobbled sections have a bone-juddering impact on even the toughest and most brilliant riders. It is also the glittering peak among the five monuments which are cycling’s oldest and most prestigious one-day races.
This year the severity of the challenge was underlined by the death of the young Belgian cyclist Michael Goolaerts, who suffered a cardiac arrest. For just under six hours Sagan was in a battle and his feat was accentuated by the fact he broke for glory a startling 53km from the finish. The Swiss cyclist Silvan Dillier clung to a narrow lead as they entered the velodrome, but Sagan was Cordrea Tankersley Authentic Jersey imperious in the final 100m.
“Twice I didn’t finish Roubaix,” Sagan says, “and in those races I Omri Casspi Youth jersey did finish I was in much worse condition than this year. If you’re fighting for first position your emotions are very different. I was not thinking: ‘This is the http://www.officialkingsteamstore.com/Jeff_Carter_Jersey hell of the north.’ But you realise one, two, three days later how tired you are. Especially the first morning, I was so tired when I woke up from shaking on the cobblestones.”
Sagan sinks into the couch in a Maastricht hotel. We’re a week past Paris-Roubaix and it’s the day before he finishes fourth in the Amstel Gold Race – a 261km ride featuring 35 serious climbs – and the toll is obvious. Yet he is much more involved than he had been in a stilted press conference preceding our interview. As the routine questions from the Dutch press corps arrived slowly, Sagan quipped: “Is this a funeral?”
Here, in a more relaxed setting, it seems appropriate to consider Sagan’s remarkable rise from obscurity in Slovakia to becoming the world’s premier sprint cyclist and star of the peloton. The 28-year-old, who rides for the German team Bora-Hansgrohe, became the first reigning world champion to win Paris-Roubaix since Bernard Hinault in 1981. This second classic, after Sagan won Flanders in 2016, sits alongside other milestones. Last year only a controversial disqualification, after Mark Cavendish fell heavily in a bunch sprint, ended Sagan’s run of five successive Tour de France points victories in the green jersey. He then won a third consecutive world championship in Norway.
After that victory Bradley Wiggins tweeted, of Sagan: “Cycling’s saviour! This man is currently bigger than the sport, look after him. Congrats Peter, a true legend and one of the all-time greats!” This gushing reaction mirrors the online response whenever Sagan pulls a giddy stunt – as in 2015 when he was John Travolta to his wife Katarina’s Olivia Newton-John and they acted out the fairground scene from http://www.officialducksshoponline.com/authentic-17-ryan-kesler-jersey.html Grease. cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys
There are good reasons why
Stop all the clocks. Stamp a single steel-toed work boot through Mrs Blenkinsop’s sensational triple-tiered Victoria sponge. Prevent the dog from barking with a bag of gravel. For BBC Test Match Special is dead. Or at least, suspended for a bit over the autumn and winter.

Instead commercial radio is back in the shape of TalkSport, which has outbid the BBC for rights to England’s autumn and winter Test tours to Sri Lanka and West Indies. And nothing now can ever come to any good. Except, of course for the fact it may actually be all right.

A quick census of the loudest online voices suggests the general response to this news has been somewhere on the spectrum between regret, dismay and a great swirling fudge of mawkish, http://www.officialrayshop.com/Matt_Duffy_Jersey cake-fondling, doily-clutching Middle England horror.
Understandably so, too. It is a mark of the way Test cricket is cherished in England that the idea of different voices bringing it into your kitchen or down through the headphones in the insomniac hours is like http://www.officialarizonacoyotes.com/Adidas-Christian-Fischer-Jersey a familial loss. Test Match Special is much-loved. For many people its enforced break during the winter will be an absence that goes beyond sport, a missing beat in the Authentic Reilly Smith Jersey rhythms of the day.
And yet there are limits to this. The sense of mild hysteria, the social media suggestion that losing TMS for a few months is “worse http://www.lionsofficialfootballauthentic.com/Travis_Swanson_Jersey than Brexit” seems a little overdone. For a start someone should probably check on Jonathan Agnew, who seems to think his employer being outbid for some broadcast rights is a national disaster on the scale of the death of Princess Diana and that ice skating woman falling over all rolled into one. Imagine Princess Diana falling over in an ice skating race, thereby accidentally derailing Charlotte Dujardin’s quest for dressage gold, while Womens Pat Elflein Jersey simultaneously being denied the right to broadcast cricket on the BBC. That’s how bad we’re talking.
Or at least this appears to be the case judging by Agnew’s funereal tweets on the subject. Not only is the self-righteous tone a provocation to every other working broadcaster involved in covering the sport, it also does a disservice to the genuine depth of feeling around this.
There Authentic Jared Dudley Jersey are good reasons why cricket on the BBC is an emotive issue. The corporation played a hand in keeping the sport going when it might have died after the second world war, re-spinning its mass popularity into the fabric of the summer. Plenty of us wouldn’t have known cricket existed but for the BBC – Peter West, Tony Lewis and all that, smiling avuncular men in blazers staring right into the camera on a grey Tuesday morning in the dog days of the summer.
Plus on a more basic level Test Match Special does a fine job, credit to some brilliant journalists and producers. Simon Mann, Charles Dagnall, Isa Guha, Daniel Norcross and the rest are all excellent. Vic Marks, also Authentic Dontae Johnson Jersey of these pages, offers the kind of voice you do not often hear on any media, determinedly anti-sensational voice, wryly humorous in hectoring times. TalkSport will have a huge job on its hands just trying to meet the same standards of analysis and reporting.
It should be said Agnew is also a brilliant broadcaster, and hugely popular too, the best out there at simply pointing himself at his sport and talking, with a wonderfully easy style. But he is also a part of why some may welcome a bit of variation, those moments where the sense of vital work being done, of weepy self-importance slips into something else. Imagine the phrase “Bumptious BBC self-regard” baked in a nuclear reactor until it finally grows arms and legs, escapes, kits itself out in chinos and begins talking in a cosy, righteous tone about delivering a vital national service. wholesale nfl jerseys wholesale nfl jerseys wholesale nfl jerseys cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys cheap jerseys cheap nfl jerseys
Pochettino’s team sought to impose
It was on this day last year that Brighton ensured their promotion from the Championship. On Tuesday night at the Amex Stadium they took a small step towards retaining their Premier League status for another season.

The fiendish nature of their run-in has been well-documented and Chris Hughton’s team must still face the Manchester clubs, Liverpool and Burnley in their final matches. They needed something, anything, to allow them to breathe a little easily after a worrying run of one point from an available 15. This was it.
The horror of Saturday’s 3-2 defeat at Crystal Palace was forgotten as Brighton put their bodies on the line to earn precious reward. The roar from the home crowd at the full-time whistle told its own story. Brighton http://www.officialbluejaysproshop.com/Marcus_Stroman_Jersey are eight points clear of third-from-bottom Southampton, although they have played a game more.
Tottenham have a bigger match round the corner in the shape of Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final against Manchester United and Mauricio Pochettino appeared to have one eye on it with his team selection. He made six changes from Saturday’s home defeat by Manchester City and omitted Davinson Sánchez and Dele Alli from the squad entirely. He gave Toby Alderweireld his first Premier League action since 28 October and the centre-half was http://www.denverbroncosshops.com/Tom_Jackson_Jersey_Cheap not overly extended.
However, Pochettino made the point yet again that the league was the priority. The personnel changes, he said, were purely down to fatigue from the Womens Nolan Cromwell Jersey City game. “If we win the FA Cup, we are not going to play Champions League,” Pochettino said. “You only do that if you finish in the top four. Today was the most important game.”
For Tottenham it felt like points dropped. Pochettino was entitled to say that his team had “dominated” the game in terms of possession Authentic Leonard Fournette Jersey and territory but he was also on the money when he lamented a “lack of aggression” in the final third. They were unable to create sufficient clear-cut chances.
Harry Kane put Spurs in front with his 26th goal of the Premier League season – his Golden Boot rival, Mohamed Salah of Liverpool, has 30 – but Brighton showed their strength of character with an instant riposte through Pascal Gross’s penalty. Hughton had given him the responsibility after a Case Keenum Womens Jersey couple of penalty misses this season by Glenn Murray.
Tottenham’s lead over fifth-placed Chelsea could be cut to five points with four matches to play when their London rivals go to Burnley on Thursday. But theirs remains a position of strength. Three of their final four matches are at Wembley – against Watford, Newcastle and Leicester – and the other one is a trip to West Brom.
Pochettino’s team sought to impose their pressing game and they sparked danger on a number of occasions when they forced errors from Brighton high up the pitch. Gross was guilty of the stray pass that set in motion the move for Kane’s goal at the beginning of the second half. wholesale jerseys wholesale jerseys wholesale jerseys wholesale jerseys wholesale jerseys
Back in 2008 the PCA chief
I don’t think it will ever be straightforward. It’s down to you as a player to be very honest with yourself and if you want to be a part of it, accept the fact that some people won’t have the same opinion. Everyone is different but that is why the world is so good and why life is so interesting.”

The “it” in question, if you haven’t guessed already, is the Indian Premier League and the words are spoken by a philosophical Jos Buttler during a catch-up in Bengaluru over the weekend. England’s one-day wicketkeeper speaks of retaining ambition for a Test match return but at the start of the county season, there is only one place he truly wants to be.
Buttler always seems to be fielding such questions these days. A unique ball-striking talent, many still wish to see him in the whites of his country. But with cricket’s tectonic plates having shifted so much in the http://www.officialnflstoreco.com/cincinnati-bengals-c-2375_2382.html last decade, and administrators yet to solve the scheduling Rubik’s Cube, only occasionally can he hop back over to the red-ball landmass to push his claims with Lancashire.
Instead, right now he is one of a record 12 English players at this year’s IPL, the powerhouse domestic tournament in which the country’s hulking great cricket grounds morph into thorax-thumping subwoofers and the world’s best Twenty20 players (bar those from the world’s No 1 side, Pakistan, it must be noted) duke it out for their adopted franchises over seven weeks.
In its 11th season, the IPL’s tractor beam is stronger than ever too with a record £1.8bn broadcast deal over the next five editions seeing each team’s squad budget swell by 20 % to £8.5m. Audiences have hit record highs and over the coming years international cricket will likely http://www.officialjazzshoponline.com/Derrick_Favors_Jersey stop fully during this time.
Back in 2008 the PCA chief executive, Sean Morris, warned the England and Wales Cricket Board it risked becoming King Canute in denying its players the chance to join in. Four years later, one of the few to wriggle free, Kevin Pietersen, was bemoaning “jealousy” of the IPL back home and that “second-rate Australians” were taking the spots of his more talented team-mates.
Now, however, through a change in ECB policy and greater on-field enlightenment among the current crop of white-ball thrusters, English players are in demand – and in some cases, earning serious cash. Buttler plays at Rajasthan Royals alongside Victor Hedman Youth jersey Ben Stokes, the Royal Challengers Bangalore have the two Brummies Chad Williams Jersey in Chris Woakes and Moeen Ali, Alex Hales and Chris Jordan are at Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mark Wood, David Willey and Sam Billings are Chennai Super Kings while Tom Curran is on his tod with Kolkata Knight Riders. Jason Roy and Liam Plunkett make up the contingent at Delhi Daredevils.
Only Australia, with 13 players present, is better represented in terms of overseas berths but unlike their longstanding rival, England’s dozen have been snapped up without a single coach from their country in place. On paper this could be viewed as a source of national pride however, given the tournament’s direct clash with the start of the spring-to-autumn county cricket season, they must still contend with disapproval from some quarters. wholesale jerseys cheap nfl jerseys wholesale nfl jerseys cheap nfl jerseys

The owner of the horse that won the “People’s Race” here on Saturday is one of Europe’s most high-profile multi-millionaires, but Tiger Roll, who beat Pleasant Company by a fast-diminishing head, is a horse with whom the watching millions could identify. Like most of us, Tiger Roll has always had his good days and bad days – and when it mattered most he had the best day of all.

Punters who take their betting seriously know all about the Timeform squiggle, the mark against a horse’s name in the ratings that suggests it is unreliable and cannot be trusted to give its all at the business end of a race. Tiger Roll has had a squiggle for years, despite a record that includes three victories at the Cheltenham Festival. Even Michael O’Leary, his owner, called him “a little rat of a thing” after the race.

But Tiger Roll now has one of the most complete and impressive winning records of any jumper of recent years and O’Leary paid rich tributes not only to Tiger Roll and his rider, Davy Russell, but also Gordon Elliott, the trainer who somehow persuaded a Triumph Hurdle winner, over the minimum trip of two miles, to win the world’s most famous steeplechase over four-and-a-quarter.
“If you look at the size of him, Austin Jackson Jersey we never thought he’d make a chaser,” O’Leary said. “We kept him hurdling for two years and then there was nothing else to do, so we tried him over fences. He wasn’t a particularly brilliant novice chaser, either. But the phenomenal training performance here is that this horse has the speed to win a Triumph Hurdle and only four years later he’s winning four-mile races at Cheltenham and Aintree on soft and tacky ground. It is a brilliant Robert McClain Jersey training performance.”
With the exception http://www.authenticarizonadiamondbacksshop.com/Archie-Bradley-Jersey of a minor mistake at the first, Tiger Roll was foot-perfect throughout and one of the few runners able to keep Pleasant Company within striking distance as Willie Mullins’s runner produced an exceptional round of jumps.
For much of the second circuit it seemed likely that it would be enough to get Pleasant Company home in front as he gained ground on his pursuers at every fence. But as he turned towards the stands on the final circuit with two to jump, Tiger Roll was suddenly at his flank and travelling like a winner.
This was the point at which the old Tiger Roll, the one who earned a squiggle, might have http://www.officialauthenticchiefsstore.com/Nike-Patrick-Mahomes-Ii-Jersey.html decided that enough was enough. http://www.authenticphilliesstore.com/Authentic-Pete-Rose-Jersey There was not a hint of reluctance, Darrelle Revis Jersey though, as Russell cruised into the lead and jumped the last with a commanding advantage.
The only scare came with the winning post in sight as David Mullins summoned a strong final effort from Pleasant Company and rapidly and suddenly the gap started to close. But Tiger Roll had done enough and when Pleasant Company hit the front he was two strides too late.

The Manchester United manager
Vincent Kompany has challenged his Manchester City team-mates to retain their Premier League title after Manchester United’s shock defeat to the bottom side, West Brom, confirmed Pep Guardiola’s men as champions.

With Kompany watching on at his wife’s family home after City’s 3-1 victory over Tottenham on Saturday evening meant United had to avoid defeat against Albion to keep the title race alive, Jay Rodriguez’s goal at Old Trafford ensured the trophy will head to the other side of Manchester for Dalton Pompey Womens Jersey the third time in seven seasons.
“You can’t take them for granted – I’ve been lucky to win three but there have been so many I’ve missed as well,” said Kompany. “Today I’m happy and I suppose my team-mates will roll their eyes http://www.cardinalsnflofficialonlineshop.com/Deone-Bucannon-Jersey a little bit but I kind of want to see what the reaction is going to be now. I’ve never retained the title and I want to see if this team has got it to carry on and be even more successful.”
He added: “I had that feeling when I woke up this morning but I don’t like to wait and see a team lose so it was a little bit of a different experience today. West Brom are a good Joe Namath Womens Jersey team and they don’t deserve to be that low and as they stuck into the game you realised that something could Duke Riley Womens Jersey happen. It was a set piece and a lovely goal from Rodriguez so thank you. It was a great feeling.”
Guardiola, who said on Saturday that he would be playing golf rather than watching the match, can now add a Premier League winner’s medal to those he claimed in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich and La Liga with Barcelona. City players posted celebratory messages on Twitter with Kevin De Bruyne writing: “Unbelievable season for us. Very happy to call us champions this year.”
Confirmation of the title success comes as a fillip at the end of a difficult spell for City, during which they lost in the Manchester derby and suffered a Champions League exit at the hands of Liverpool. By completing the job after 33 games, City have emulated the achievement of United, who also secured the crown with five matches to spare in 2001.
The Manchester United manager, José Mourinho, said City’s consistency had earned them the title. “Manchester City won the title because they won more points than everybody else, because yesterday they won against Tottenham, because during the season they lost only two matches,” he said.
“We played so well in many, many games,” he said. “I think winning in Stamford Bridge gave us the confidence that we could do it. Last season against contenders was not http://www.houstontexans.us.com/WOMENS-DONTA-FOREMAN-JERSEY.html so good – we won few games. Against the last champions that gave us the belief that we were able to go there and play the way we played. But in general we were so stable. We conceded goals but the most important detail is not the goals you concede but the chances we concede. In every game it was few.” cheap jerseys free shipping cheap jerseys china wholesale nfl jerseys cheap jerseys cheap nfl jerseys
The derby will be a huge physical
Selhurst Park is always a tricky place to go and we have been preparing for more of the same when we travel there for a crucial game on Saturday afternoon. It’s not the same as Manchester City’s “once in a lifetime” chance to win the Premier League title against their city rivals but http://www.authenticstarsstore.com/-21-antoine-roussel-jersey_c-450.html if either we or Crystal Palace take three points from the match it will go a long way to keeping us up this season.

Yes, bragging rights are important for both sets of fans but there is so much more than that on the line and just walking around the streets of Brighton this week – whether doing the weekly shop or filling up the car at the local petrol station – I have not been able to avoid having a conversation about the history and dislike between the two clubs and how good it would be to go there and grab a crucial win inside “the lion’s den”.

I have been asked throughout my career what makes a derby match so special and if it is really that different for players playing in them in comparison to “just another game”.Are you the type of player who will not only show physical bravery to win headers and tackles but also have the courage, confidence and pride in your ability to take the ball, make angles to receive possession and take the extra touch rather than hiding behind your opposite number and lumping the ball forward with Johan Franzen Authentic Jersey the fear of making a crucial mistake in a derby too much to handle?
Pressure in big games – and how you deal with it – exposes the kind of character you are. Some players would rather not risk the inevitable criticism from their own fans if they make a bad error, and choose instead to steer clear of Sheldon Richardson Jersey the ball and have no impact Corey Linsley Womens Jersey on the game. I’ve witnessed that attitude countless times and it’s worse than the player who is willing to be positive and play their natural game, even if they do make a costly mistake; as a player those are the types of characters you want to have on your side and they are who you need to win a derby match – especially away from home.
Many pundits, coaches and supporters talk about the supposed statistical advantage of playing at home, http://www.officialhornetsproshop.com/authentic-15-percy-miller-jersey.html especially in derby matches, but for me the answer is simple: it is 11 human beings playing a sport against 11 others and, with tens of thousands of supporters abusing you and willing you to fail because you’re an away-team player, it takes a person with an incredibly strong sense of personality, self-belief and http://www.lionsofficialfootballauthentic.com/Darren_Fells_Jersey borderline arrogance to be able to perform at a level that is sufficient to help their team to an away win.
I have confidence and belief that all of my team-mates have these qualities but the honest answer is that I won’t know until 5pm on Saturday afternoon if we have achieved our goal, despite has been required from us as individual players to get ourselves mentally ready for a fast, physical, emotional match while being able to focus on the task at hand as well as not being caught out in that first 20 minutes when the tempo of the game will be at its maximum.

All this had happened inside
Real Madrid are in the Champions League semi-finals for the eighth year in a row. That is no surprise but what is a surprise is that for so much of a dramatic, nervous night at the Bernabéu it looked like they might not be.

A round of shocks almost had the biggest of them all, a miracle mighty close, the champions following Barcelona in being knocked out by Italian opposition. In Turin they had been applauded, Cristiano Ronaldo holding his heart in gratitude after his superb goal was handed an ovation; at the Bernabéu there were hands on hearts too, in agony, right to the end. And then Ronaldo appeared once more.
Juventus took Madrid to the cliff edge with a 3-0 lead with two from Mario Mandzukic and one from Blaise Matuidi. Until, into the third minute of added time, Lucas Vázquez went down under http://www.officialmarlinstore.com/Weiyin_Chen_Jersey a challenge from Medhi Benatia. The referee, Michael Oliver, pointed to the spot. As Juventus’s players surrounded him, seeing hope slip away, screaming injustice, Gigi Buffon was sent off, his last European game ending with him walking from the field, angry and unmoved by the ovation.
And so a place in the semi-finals came down a penalty: the world watching, Ronaldo waiting, the substitute goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny eventually standing before him. One shot. It flew high into the net, Ronaldo raced to the corner flag, throwing his shirt in the air, the stadium erupting, barely able to believe it. Juventus Womens Josh Reynolds Jersey couldn’t, either. The roar was delight and relief.
Fear had visited Madrid fans early, a realisation there was a game on, one they had never anticipated, despite the warnings. It never really let go. Douglas Costa played in Sami Khedira, running in on the right, and he clipped the cross to the far post where Mandzukic arrived and headed in the opener. The clock said 1:16: it was the quickest goal Madrid had conceded in this competition and it was just the start. An hour and a Giovanni Fiore Authentic Jersey half later, this had still not been resolved: a tie that had appeared over a week ago was not yet done.
Less than 30 seconds after the goal, Juventus were back: the celebration high in the north end had barely subsided and the rallying call from the rest of the ground had hardly been raised when Gonzalo Higuaín was there, deep inside the area. He was slow, the shot scuffed and the chance wasted, but the storm had not passed. Mattia De Sciglio http://www.officialvikingsjerseysstore.com/Danielle_Hunter_Jersey_Cheap delivered two crosses in a minute and then Costa, who tore into them throughout, raced into the area, forcing Keylor Navas to dive at the feet of Higuaín.
All this had happened inside seven minutes and although Gareth Bale forced a save from Buffon two minutes later, Dani Carvajal then bursting through and Isco having one ruled out for offside, the ordeal continued. Carvajal had to clear Mandzukic’s delivery and the resulting corner went through to the Croat, bouncing off his shins and into Navas’s hands from five yards. This was relentless; it was also only 15 minutes in and yet there could have been three or four already. wholesale nfl jerseys from china cheap jerseys china wholesale nfl jerseys cheap jerseys
Liverpool have been charged with
Pep Guardiola has been hit with two separate Uefa disciplinary charges as a result of the Manchester City manager’s dismissal in the Champions League defeat by Liverpool.Guardiola was sent to Chris Long Jersey the stands by the referee Antonio Mateu Lahoz at the end of the first half after coming on to the pitch at half-time to protest over a disallowed effort by Leroy Sané. The Spanish official ruled out the tap-in for offside, though there was considerable sympathy for the City manager given the ball came to Sané after Loris Karius’s punch rebounded off James Milner.

Having been ordered away from the dugout and technical area Guardiola was then subject to a Uefa regulation that forbids any communication with coaching staff on the sidelines, but it is understood the governing body believes he may have contravened this rule and will charge him with improper conduct.

Guardiola has admitted telling the referee the goal should have stood, though he denies using bad language. The flashpoint came at a crucial stage of the match, with City leading 1-0. http://www.authenticavalanchejerseys.com/Authentic-Conor-Timmins-Jersey Had Sané’s effort counted they would have gone in 2-0 ahead, with every chance of going on to cancel out Liverpool’s 3-0 lead from the first leg. In the event their momentum stalled in the second half and Liverpool scored twice to run out 5-1 aggregate winners.
Liverpool have been charged with http://www.authenticbuccaneersofficial.com/Nike-Davonte-Lambert-Jersey.html disciplinary offences over the behaviour of their fans. Uefa alleges fireworks were let off and objects thrown at the Etihad, just as they were outside Anfield when the City team bus was attacked before last week’s game. Uefa’s control, ethics and disciplinary body next convenes at the end of next month.
have a small favour to ask. More people are reading the Guardian than ever but advertising revenues across the media are falling fast. And unlike many news organisations, we haven’t put up a paywall – we want to keep our journalism as open as we can. So you can see why we need to ask for your help. The Guardian’s independent, investigative journalism takes a lot of time, Robert Horry Jersey money and hard work to produce. But we do it because we believe our perspective matters – because it might well be your perspective, too.I appreciate there not being a paywall: it is more democratic for the media to be available for all and not a http://www.buccaneersshopofficialfootball.com/Chris_Conte_Jersey commodity to be purchased by a few. I’m happy to make a contribution so others with less means still have access to information.
The basic statistics from those three defeats make for interesting reading. City dominated every metric, Albert McClellan Jersey as is so often the case. In defeat to Liverpool (twice) and Manchester United they had more corners (23 to six combined) more shots (51 to 19) and – of course – more possession of the ball. Across those 270 losing minutes City made a staggering 1,778 accurate passes to their opponents’ 799, an average of three and a half more accurate passes every minute of every game. wholesale jerseys wholesale nfl jerseys wholesale nfl jerseys cheap jerseys china cheap jerseys from china wholesale nfl jerseys
Farrell responded in kind
For all that the scoreboard makes for desperate reading yet again for Northampton, perhaps the most miserable aspect of this latest hammering is that Saracens Mike Moustakas Authentic Jersey hit top gear only intermittently in reaching their fourth half-century against the Saints this season.

Alex Lozowski was masterful at outside-centre and Maro Itoje commanding but the ease with which Northampton were sliced and diced in the second half – shipping 48 points without scoring a single one themselves – represents their lowest ebb in a dire season. “There’s embarrassment throughout the squad and the coaches,” said the Northampton coach, Alan Dickens.
Nine different try scorers ensured Saracens moved on from their European Rugby Champions Cup http://www.officialpadreshop.com/authentic-1-ozzie-smith-jersey.html exit at the hands of Leinster in emphatic style and remain on http://www.teamusahockeyjerseys.com/Adidas-Ryan-Mcdonagh-Jersey course for a home Premiership play-off. They have now scored 237 points, at an average of more than 59, in their four crushing wins over Saints and this was their highest total. “It says a lot about the group, after a six-day turnaround from Dublin, how mentally tough we were,” said the Saracens director of rugby, Mark McCall.
Remarkably, Saracens led just 15-13 at the interval. Indeed, Northampton turned down a penalty within Stephen Myler’s range that would have taken them into the break ahead, yet Sarries turned up the volume in the second half and Saints capitulated again. Ultimately, the season cannot end early Stephon Gilmore Womens Jersey enough – the brief bounce they enjoyed with Alan Gaffney’s arrival has now disappeared in the rear-view mirror. A tranche of players have been let go – in truth a lot of deadwood – and the only optimism stems from the anticipation that surrounds Chris Boyd’s arrival from the Hurricanes next season. He cannot, however, work miracles.
It was an inauspicious start from Northampton – Teimana Harrison butchering rugby’s equivalent of an open goal after a fine long pass from Myler. Five minutes later Saracens had their first try with Sean Maitland’s inside pass freeing Lozowski. Saints were then on the board after a high tackle from Owen Farrell – one of three by the fly-half in the first 40 minutes – with Myler on target.
Farrell responded in kind before the Saints hooker Reece Marshall, making his first Premiership Harrison Smith Womens Jersey start, finished well in the corner from close range. Northampton were ahead after another Myler penalty before Saracens upped the ante, kicked to the corner and Schalk Brits touched down from the driving lineout.
Perhaps given a reminder or two at the break, Saracens were suddenly in the mood and a muscular carry from Itoje led to Ben Spencer going over in the corner. The hammer blow came when Mako Vunipola powered over after a period of pressure and the coup de grace followed with a deliciously disguised chip by Farrell for Liam Williams to collect and add the fifth try.

Mercedes have been insistent
Ordinarily making the podium from ninth on the grid would be a result eagerly accepted but for Lewis Hamilton there was an air of disappointment in doing http://www.brownsshopfootball.com/Danny-Shelton-Jersey.html so at the Bahrain Grand Prix after what had looked Joey Bosa Jersey for a time like a comeback drive that might have returned a remarkable Mercedes Satchel Paige Jersey one-two. The ambition was there but for Hamilton and his team?mate Valtteri Bottas, who was second, their hopes were dashed by a bold Ferrari strategy call and a remarkable piece of driving by the winner, Sebastian Vettel.

Mercedes made their play in the form of opting to put both their drivers on one-stop strategies, when Ferrari were looking to bring Vettel home from pole with a two-stopper. A mid?race switch to match Mercedes meant Vettel had to make his softer tyres last 39 laps to the flag, with a life span predicted by Pirelli of only 30. Had he had to pit again both Hamilton and Bottas would have passed him. By the end his grip was gone but he kept it on the island with exemplary control, holding off Bottas’s late charge and thwarting Mercedes’ carefully engineered plans.
After a five-place grid penalty damage limitation was Hamilton’s goal and he was happy to have taken the 15 points but his disappointment reflects that Vettel now has two wins from two races this season and a 17-point lead over the British driver in the world title fight. Equally, Ferrari have shown that their race pace is strong.
Mercedes have been insistent that their rivals were a real threat and the http://www.footballtitansofficialonline.com/Nike-Harry-Douglas-Jersey.html Scuderia’s performance at the Sakhir circuit suggests that once again this season is going to be a tight fight at the front.
The Ferrari has performed superbly across the weekend in Bahrain, well balanced, with great pace and working its tyres well in the high temperatures. Vettel made the most of their advantage.
His team’s jubilation will be coloured, however, by a serious pit?stop error that cost Kimi Raikkonen his race and left a mechanic on the floor when the Finn was released before the left rear wheel had been fitted properly. Francesco Cigarini sustained a fractured tibia and fibula and will undergo surgery in Bahrain.
The stewards imposed a fine of €50,000 (£43,000) for an unsafe release. The team use a lights system to indicate to the driver when to leave the pit box. “I go when the light is green, I didn’t see what Terrell McClain Youth jersey happened behind and unfortunately he got hurt,” Raikkonen said. Ferrari had already received a fine after an unsafe release for Raikkonen in practice and will likely now have to review their pit-stop procedure. cheap jerseys from china cheap nfl jerseys wholesale nfl jerseys wholesale nfl jerseys wholesale jerseys wholesale nfl jerseys
